Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Peoples was one of two children born to the late John Thomas Franklin and the late Inez Biggers Franklin on November 19, 1946 in Nashville, TN. She departed this life on October 4, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Born Again Church, where she attended faithfully until her health failed. She attended public school and worked at Baptist Hospital as an LPN. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She also loved gardening, baking, and taking daily strolls in her neighborhood.
She was married to the late Thurman Peoples, Sr. and of that union, one child was born; Thurman Peoples, Jr. Also preceding her in death is one brother, William Franklin; Mary Louise Peoples Gordon; Forestine Peoples and Loretta Peoples. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Thurman Peoples, Jr. (Renona Kay) of Smyrna, TN; one sister-in-law, Allie (Guy) Turner III. LaVergne, TN; two brother-in-laws: Clifton (Bobbi) Peoples of Nashville, TN and Wilbert (Carmen) Peoples of Fort Worth, TX; two grandchildren: Caleb Jevon and Joshua Tyler of Smyrna, TN; dear friend Sally Ruth Black, Pulaski, TN and a mother-in-law Di Di Peoples and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11:00 Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Born Again Church, 858 West Trinity Lane Nashville, TN 37207. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mrs. Peoples at a visitation Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 10:00 until the service at 11:00.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Eastland Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
