Celeste Dean Boyce Vanasse was Henri's "better half" for 64 years; Cheryl and Marty's (Penny) Mama; Misti's (Marcus) Nana; great-grandmother to Henri Lukas, who was the apple of her eye; daughter of Annie and William "Uncle Tom"; sister to Marylou Annie "Sister", Jacob "Bubba" (Maude), William "Gene" (May), Margaret (Leslie), Gwen (Alton), and Joyce (Tommy); aunt, great-aunt, and great-great aunt "Tay" to many; friend to all. She was kind, generous, firm but loving, and tenderhearted. She enjoyed reading, staying up late solving word puzzles, coffee, playing Bingo, and spending time with her family. She was a talented seamstress, fantastic cook, thoughtful and sentimental gift giver, and wise. Skillful in the written word, her letter writing talent was unmatched. Russell Stover candy was her preference. Sweet tea was her specialty. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and patience. Her quick wit, loving spirit, and peaceful presence will be missed endlessly.
A celebration of her life service will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, February 24, 2018 with Bro. Terry Carver officiating at Eastland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation with the family will be held Friday from 4pm until 8pm and Saturday from 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
