Cecil D. Story of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on October 5, 2016. He was born in Bridgeport, Texas on October 21 of 1923 to John Quincy Story and Milena Beatrice Johnston Story. Preceded in passing by his wife, Edna Kelley Story; and sisters and brother, Ozell, Mary, Jean, and Buck. Survived by his son, John; and sister, Grace. He graduated Bridgeport High School in 1941 and played for the Fort Worth Cats (the Brooklyn Dodgers farm team) in 1942. He underwent flight engineering training then served in World War II in Guam from 1943 to 1946. Then he and his brother-in-law, Wallace, completed some of the original plumbing for the city of Grapevine, Texas. He then received a Flight Engineering Technician certificate from the US Air Force Air Training Command in 1952 and served in the Korean War until 1954. Later that year, he moved to Nashville and married Edna Kelley and in 1957, John was born. Mr. Story partnered with a man named Tucker and they started Story and Tucker Cabinet Shop. He retired in 1988 and built a house in Eagleville, TN, which he maintained and farmed almost until his time of passing. Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from eleven to one o’clock in the afternoon, with funeral service to follow at one o’clock. Interment to follow.
