Carolyn Fay Crowder, 67, died peacefully at her home Saturday, August 13, 2011, after an extended illness. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Jesse Crowder, and their daughter Marie Charmin Crowder. Other survivors include two sisters, Marie Vincent and Martha (Sherman) Shroader, and one brother, Clarence (Joyce) Beasley Jr., all of Kentucky.
Aside from managing her own home, she cleaned homes for others and had previously worked as a personal assistant to multiple celebrities. She was a clever seamstress and cake maker, as well as a gifted singer, but she will be missed most for her gentleness of spirit, steadfast prayer, and youthful laughter.
Carolyn’s departure is mourned by many loved ones and her church family at Oak Hill Assembly of God--but all look forward to embracing her again one day in the presence of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 2 o’clock in the afternoon until 8 o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 16th of August 2011, in a drawing room of Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton. The funeral service is to be conducted at 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday the 17th of August 2011 in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with burial following in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
