Carl Edward Corlew, age 78, a Nashville native, passed away August 17, 2017, at the St. Thomas hospital in Murfreesboro. He was a West End High School graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree at MTSU. He retired as payroll supervisor for the State of Tennessee. He also assisted small business owners with bookkeeping services. In his free time he enjoyed golf, bowling and the many cruises that he took with his wife, Elaine, especially the ones to Alaska. Mr. Corlew was a member of the Judson Baptist Church and was most passionate about the Lord, his faith and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Elaine Hines Corlew; daughters, Dawn Corlew Ward and Michelee Spears Unger; stepchildren, Sheryl (Sam) Bottoms, Deborah (John) Fast, and Frank Benjamin (Holly) Couch, III; fifteen grandchildren; brothers, James (Betty) Corlew and Harold Corlew. He is preceded in death by his parents, A. D. and Geraldine Corlew.
