Boyd Lincoln Davis, age 84, went home to be with his Lord on November 23, 2013. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, John Henry Davis and Minnie Hambrick; sister, Louise Neal; brothers, Fred Davis and Bill Davis; daughter, Sheryn Altes. Boyd is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mildred E. Davis; daughters, Cindy (Jerry) Broome, Teresa (Mike) Stinson, Cheryl (Tom) Winnenberg; son, Jason (Jackie) Davis; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and brothers, Gordon (Mildred) Davis and Jack Davis. Mr. Davis was born in Trenton, Alabama. He was attending Florence State Teachers College when he was drafted into the Army, to serve in the Korean War. He taught school and coached basketball before starting his own businesses. Boyd enjoyed traveling with his wife after retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, and walking with his dogs. Visitation will be held from five until seven o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, the 26th of November, 2013 at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Ken Castleberry, will be held at eleven thirty in the morning on Wednesday, the 27th of November in Woodlawn’s Dignity Hall with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers are Jerry Broome, Mike Stinson, Joshua Stinson, Nicholas Stinson, Tom Winnenberg and Andrew Winnenberg. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
