Rachel Mae Manlove Vice, 88, of Nashville passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 in Life’s Journey Hospice. She was born March 5, 1933 in Indianapolis to Claude Ross Manlove and Elsie L. Pickett Manlove. She was a retired Teacher.
Survivors include her daughter, Candace (Jerry) Smith of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Ryan J. Vice, Alyssa C. Vice, and Aaron P. Smith all of Bloomington; a sister, Carolyn Fecher of Noblesville; her Scottie, Bonnie; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph K. Vice; her son, Christopher J. Vice; a sister, Lois Newton; and four brothers, George Manlove, Donald Manlove, Max Manlove, and Richard Manlove.
Rachel had been attending Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bloomington. She had been a member of the Nashville Literary Club (past President and Secretary), and the Nashville League of Women Voters. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and cherished the time she spent teaching at the Frances Slocum Elementary School in Marion. After retirement she and Joseph relocated to Nashville and owned and operated the Sports’n’More store for several years.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 N St Rd 135, Nashville, IN. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends one hour prior to services on Saturday from l00-2:00 PM also in the funeral home.
