Leo R. Mullin, 80, of Nashua, NH passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in the Southern NH Medical Center, Nashua surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 16, 1932 in Brookline, MA, a son of the late Hugh H. and Anna (Highland) Mullin.
Mr. Mullin attended Brookline, MA schools and started caddying at the Country Club in Brookline at the age of 12, beginning a lifelong passion for golf. He attended Boston University on a golf scholarship and also served as an R.O.T.C. Commander at B.U. He then served with the U.S. Army stationed in Ft. Leonardwood, MO from 1954-1956 having attained the rank of Captain at his discharge from the service.
Following the Army Mr. Mullin went to work for State Street Bank until 1976. He served as President of Union National Bank in Lowell, MA. He then left banking and went into the Brokerage Business with Tucker Anthony and R.L. Day, now known as RBC Wealth Management. Mr. Mullin was active in various community organizations and was most proud of having initiated the golf program at The Ron Burton Training Village.
A gregarious, loving and kind man with never a harsh word about anyone, Mr. Mullin loved to socialize, enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoyed his trips to Ireland and loved to talk on the phone. He loved to tell stories, and you know he had a story for every occasion.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years; Patti Mullin, six children; Amelia Rokicki, Leo R. Mullin, Jr., Christopher Mullin, Peter Mullin, Greg Mullin and Julie Lynch, two step-daughters; Maggie DeSantis and Emily Gallagher, 17 grandchildren; Michael, Oona, Isabel, Alex, Elsa, Kristina, Corelle, Billy, Austin, Will, Calvin, John, Courtney, Nathan, Hugh, Liam and Haile, a brother; Richard Mullin, five sisters; Barbara Cusick, Mary Gately, Claire Mullin, Ann Mullin and Louise Remington. He is also survived by his first wife; Janet Mullin and by daughters and sons in law, nieces and nephews and many loving friends. He was predeceased by two brothers; Hugh H. Mullin, Jr. and Paul Mullin.
Following cremation a gathering and celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The Ron Burton Training Village, 55 Morgan Rd., Hubbardston, MA 01452.
