James I. Whigham, 88, of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024. Born in Westford, MA on August 18, 1936. He was the son of the late Stephanie Whigham and Irving Whigham. He grew up in Westford, MA and graduated from Westford Academy.
He was a truck driver for Nyes JapEnamelac for several years until they closed. He then went to work for Westford Anodizing until they closed, and he retired. Everyone on his route adored him and gave him the nickname of “Whittie”.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, James was a devoted family man, who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In his free time, he liked to go square dancing, play pool at the senior center and go out to listen to country music with friends and bowling every Monday in a league with his wife and friends. He also loved going to Disney with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lionel and Barbara Marcouillier.
He is survived by his loving wife, E. Rita Whigham of 66 years. They would have started their 67th year of marriage on August 31, 2024. Three daughters Cheryl Clement and her husband Scott, Lisa Fernacz and her husband David and Wendy (Rubino) Nolan and her significant other Bill. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Clement and his wife Ashley, Samantha Cillo and her husband Mike, Mike Rubino, DJ Fernacz and his wife Jennifer, Patrick Clement and his wife Sarah and Benjamin Clement. Great grandchildren Lauren Clement, Ryleigh Clement, Evan Clement, Aubryanna Cillo and Anastasia Cillo as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Larry Marcouillier.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will take place sometime in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of James I. Whigham to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
