Born December 6, 1921 in Montgomery County, Illinois, to the late William E. and Celia V. (Hilt) House. On April 3, 1942, in Reno, NV, she married Herman E. Rowley who preceded her in death on December 24, 1998. Napoleon was home for over 50 years, Herm was transferred from Chicago by Campbell Soup Co.
Cam had a career as an accountant/bookkeeper, graduating from the Brown Business College in Springfield, Illinois. She retired from Bokerman Insurance Agency of Napoleon. Cam called St. Paul United Methodist Church of Napoleon her church home and family. She was active in the children’s programming and held positions on most church committees. Cam was a member of the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor and the Scenic Riverview Drive Group. She was an avid Bridge player playing in many groups. For years she and Herm took care of the flowers at the East end of the River park.
Special memories for Cam was a 50th wedding anniversary Disney Cruise for the entire family in 1992. And in 1998 a month long 8,000 mile trip to the far West in a Volkswagon camper van with Herm, Penny and Spitzz the family pet. She enjoyed gardening, and traveling with Herm and friends, visiting children and family.
Cam is survived by three loving daughters Penny Rowley, Napoleon, Debra (Brent) Van Scoik, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Trudy (John) Grafton, Convoy, Ohio; four grandsons, a granddaughter, a new great granddaughter; brother H. Edward House, Pittsfield, Illinois(age 99). She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son and two sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held December 29th, at 11am, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Napoleon, Ohio, Pastor Lindy Maurice-Saum, officiating. Visitation 10-11am before memorial at church. A lunch will be held immediately following services. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church or the Napoleon Humane Society. Interment will be made at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, RoundtreeTownship, Montgomery County, Illinois at a later date.
