Sandra Lee Miller

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra Lee Miller (nee Miller) on October 6, 2024 at the age of 82 in Naples, Florida. Sandy was born on January 12, 1942 in Reading, Pennsylvania to Marian and Howard Miller.

She was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and Empire Beauty School. Sandy always put the needs of others before her own and focused on giving back to her community. Sandy was a volunteer at Berks County Children and Youth Services and served tirelessly as a surrogate mother for abused children. She also served as a board member of the Reading Public Library and held several executive positions in the Exeter Woman’s Club. Sandy developed a passion for hair styling at an early age that continued throughout her life. As a young stylist at Pomeroy’s Department Store Hair Salon, she met her husband that resulted in a 57 year marriage that ended only upon her death. She subsequently worked at Giovanni’s and then A-Nu-U Salon before her retirement.

One of Sandy’s dreams was to spend her January birthdays living in a warm climate. Her wish came true when she and her husband moved to Naples, Florida in 2014. She enjoyed having her family visit and was surrounded by many friends at their new home.

Sandy’s memory will be kept alive by her devoted husband, Dr. S. Ronald Miller and her cherished children: son Joshua (Colleen), daughter Valerie Schaeffer (Matthew) and daughter Kimberly Mehrara (Sasan). Sandy also took great joy in her role as grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Zachary, Margaret, Michael, Adam, Jonathan, Lauren and Jessica, and her one great grandson, Henry. She is also survived by her brother Martin and was predeceased by her brother David.

Funeral services will be held at 12pm on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Temple Oheb Shalom, Reading Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held in Naples Florida at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association and American Kidney Fund.
