Raymond Bruce Whitaker, 74, of Macon, GA passed away on December 6, 2023 in Naples, FL.
Bruce was born in Macon, GA on July 24, 1949 to Ray and Mary Whitaker. He graduated from the University of Georgia and was a huge Bulldog fan and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He married Suzann Newberry in 1974 and began their family. Bruce loved camping and spending time in the Georgia Mountains and his dog Maggie.
Bruce is survived by his children Bobby Whitaker, Andy (Irene) Whitaker and Julie (Chad) Whitaker Summer, his Grandsons Andrew, William and Christopher Whitaker and his Granddaughters Carrabelle and Savannah Summer and his sister Susan Whitaker Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Suzann and his daughter-in-law Claire Whitaker.
Bruce’s family would like to offer a special thank you to Kelsey, his care manager and Jill and Sandra at Naples Green who took special care of him.
In honor of Bruce’s wishes, he will be cremated and his family will have a private service returning him to the Georgia Mountains he loved.
