Lucas Will forever remain in my heart not only was he in all honesty my first friend when I was in a new place but he was also a very good friend sometimes he was like so much but that’s what also made him very great it was exciting and he liked danger and he liked excitement and I loved him so much I had respect for him no matter how old I get or how much time has passed I’m always gonna remember the fact that at one point in my life I knew a person whose heart was so solid it made you feel incredibly secure and for that I will always be grateful he was genuinely such a good person to me and I hope that he’s somewhere that makes him very happy

Precious son...it has been over a year since I last saw your face.  My heart aches every single day.  I know that you are fine and happy celebrating in heaven with others that have gone before but I miss you, every single thing about you.  I miss your smile, your touch, your hugs and kisses, the way you said "mother", your laugh, your silly ways, your work ethic and most of all your kindness, concern and willingness to help all others. Bruce reminds me every day of you and your love as he is always happy to see me and eager to lick my face to show his love.  I never dreamed when you brought him to the house that he would still be here and you would be gone. Nothing or no one will ever take your place.  The scars of losing you from this life will remain with me forever. I wanted so much for you but I must trust that God truly does know best. He loves you even more than I do.  He is good and merciful and faithful so I release you into His loving arms and wait until we meet again.  I will run into your arms and kiss your face again some sweet day!!! Wish I could be there Bonnie.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers every single day. I will light a candle at 5pm on December 21st 2014 in memory of Lucas. I love him as my own. He was such a big part of my family and always will be forever.

Lucas, I really wish I had known you personally. I hear from everyone your love and caring smile just warmed their hearts.  I am touched by their memory, encouraged by their love for you always.  Keep smiling on your family, friends and all those knew you ~ for this prayer is to keep them strong and keep your legacy fresh. It is hard to believe that it will soon be a year since Lucas's passing.  I would like to say thanks to all of his friends that have stayed in touch and been there for our family with an encouraging word or just letting us know they have not and never will forget him.  He truly touched many lives in an unforgettable way.  This guest book will no longer be available for comments or memories of Lucas after February. I have printed out each one of the sentiments  that have been shared here and want you all to know your thoughts and words are treasured keepsakes. Lucas certainly loved life and all the people that were fortunate enough to have him as part of theirs are certainly blessed.  He was loving, curious, funny,and sweet.  He had a huge heart and would reach out to anyone at anytime if he saw they had a need, something he could fix, a helping hand he could lend. He never wanted to see anyone in need, hurting or upset. He tried everything he could to make people laugh and smile.  He hugged total strangers. He never came in the house without hugging me and planting a big kiss on my face. He loved loving others.  We are planning to have a sunset beach memorial for Lucas on December 21, 2014.  Our family has purchased a bench to place at his favorite place, Vanderbilt Beach and we will uncover it that evening. If you knew him and would like to join us please come.  We will meet there around 4:45 - 5:00 pm.  Please come to honor Lucas's memory with us.  I have sky lanterns we will send up and we will laugh, smile and remember and maybe cry too. That is what people that miss loved ones do... They do whatever feels natural to express their feelings. So whatever way you choose to remember Lucas with us please know we will appreciate it and embrace it.  If you can't be their please just take a moment to reflect on your favorite memory of him and perhaps think of us and say a prayer for us. We are still devastated by his absence from our lives. We will never be e same but we do have our faith and the hope that brings with it.  We know we will see Lucas again and we look forward to seeing his smile and getting one of those amazing hugs and sweet kisses when he meets us there.  Love and blessings to you all,

Today marks three months since we got the news that we never wanted to hear.  I miss you so very much and my life is upside sown without you in it.  You live in my heart and occupy my mind constantly.  I imagine you fishing in the Emerald Sea with Papa, Grandma Peggy, Grandpa Ed and Ari.  I can see you playing with all the little kids there and how they are probably drawn to your smile as they always were here. And the women...oh the women LOL)what a way you have with them.  I see you working in God's gardens with Granny, Papa and Grandpa Allen and keeping all the plants and flowers looking magnificent (nothing less than perfection will do) and you don't have sense enough to know that everything there is already perfect so you won't be happy until it is more perfect. Because of your Faith in Jesus and the hope he brings...I know you are happy there and I know that you are in a place where there is no pain, sorrow or tears. You were a light on this earth.  That smile was contagious here, and lit up this world. You gave hope to the hopeless, light to the darkness and laughter to sadness.  Everyone loves and misses you.  We will go on though sharing the love you always had plenty of and looking for those who have needs so that we can help as you always did. I promise that I will do my very best to carry on your legacy.  You are my precious and beloved son and I am so very proud that God gave and entrusted you to me so that I could learn what it means to look at others with non-judgmental eyes. You always told me not to judge others and you were so good at showing me how that was supposed to be lived out. I unfortunately am still a work in progress :-). No matter how bad a person appeared or acted you would look for the good in them. Your heart was truly made of the purest gold and I will never regret that we told each other how much we loved one another every time we spoke or texted. Lucas..... Naples will never be the same without YOU!! My kids and I will always remember playing catch with you, ice cream on my parents patio and our personal paddle board connection!!! My precious boy, many lives were profoundly changed for the better because of your loving kindness, especially mine. All that I have now are the amazing memories that you left us with.
