James R. Connell, 89, of Naples, FL and Edgartown, MA passed away on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013. He was born in Columbus, OH to Jeannette and Thomas Connell. James was a lifelong Private Pilot who enjoyed a longtime career with IBM. He served in the US Army Air Corps as a meteorologist. James and Elsie were longtime members of First Presbyterian Church of Naples.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elsie MacMillan Connell; children, James R. Connell, Jr., Elizabeth Connell Henderson, MD (James) and John Chester Connell (April); grandchildren, Lauren, Heather and Evan Connell; In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas, David and Charles Connell and his granddaughter Andrea Connell.
A public visitation is scheduled for Tuesday October 15, 2013 from 9am-10am followed by a private family funeral service at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, interment to follow at Naples Memorial Gardens.
