Elizabeth R Allen

Elizabeth Reeves Allen, 86, of Naples FL passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on March 21, 2013 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Blair Reeves and Forest McKee Reeves of Pleasureville, KY.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her late husband, Lynn Allen, of Eminence, KY; siblings Sarah Reeves Roberts and Nancy Reeves Robertson of Louisville, KY and Rose Reeves Smith of New Castle, KY.

She is survived by son, Lee Reeves Allen of Brooklyn, NY and daughter, Lisa Allen Congleton of Naples; three grandsons, Larry Thomas Congleton, Jr. of St. Augustine, FL, Jason Lynn Congleton, of Cincinnati, OH, Timothy Allen Congleton, of Campbellsburg, KY and eight great grandchildren; siblings include Mary Reeves Jones and Forest Leonard Reeves both of Naples, FL, seven nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and nephews

Elizabeth, formerly of Eminence (Henry County) KY, was a retired nurse having practiced at the Henry County Clinic, Eminence, and the Kings Daughters Hospital, (currently, Jewish Hospital) Shelbyville, KY. During the 1960's and 70's Elizabeth owned and operated “The Allen Shop,” a woman’s clothing store in Eminence. She was also active on the Board of the Lago Mar Club Condominiums in Naples and a member of the Eminence Christian Church.

There will be a “Celebration of Life” Reception for Elizabeth in Naples in April, followed by a Memorial Graveside service at the Eminence Cemetery in Eminence, KY in late May.
