He is survived by his wife of ten years, Sandra Collins, his daughter Lynda K. Barrow and son Richard S. Barrow, his grandsons Michael and Daniel, his daughter-in-law Laura, and by three brothers, Winston, Richard, and Arthur.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara, and by his first love and wife of 51 years, Delphene.
Don was an engineer by profession, holding both bachelor and master's degrees in science. In 1958, he enlisted in the Coast Guard and was honorably discharged as Lieutenant Commander. His successful career included being Director of Research at Coats & Clark Inc. and later Vice-President of Product Development and Engineering for Skyline Mobile Homes. He retired in 1995, moving from Mishawaka, Indiana to Estero while still young enough to enjoy gin rummy, many rounds of golf with his friends, and a great deal of travel with his wife.
He will be remembered as an attentive and devoted father and husband. Being gregarious, upbeat, and full of love, he had a large circle of friends. His children feel blessed to have had him in their lives for so many years.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hodgesfhatnaplesmg.com for the Barrow family.
