Barbara Ann was born on August 4, 1946 to James Lorenzo and Marguerite Walker, early pioneering residents of Collier County. As a lifelong resident of Collier County, she graduated from Naples High School and then went on to attend Lee University, Florida State University, and The University of South Florida where she obtained several different teaching degrees. She returned to Collier County to teach at Shadowlawn Elementary and later Gulfview Middle School with a passion for teaching history and gifted students. She retired from teaching in 1989 to help her husband run the family feed store business.
As a long time active member of First Baptist Church Naples, Barbara played the organ, sang in the choir, directed handbell choirs, taught vacation bible school, participated in mission trips, and most recently served in the Legacy Singers and Prayer Shawl ministries. She could always be counted on to share the love of Jesus through music, education and service to others.
Services will be held Friday, January 11 at 11:00 at First Baptist Church Naples with viewing at 10:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Academy or Lorenzo Walker Technical High School. Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually. (1 Chronicles 16:11)
