Anthony was born on May 29th, 1933 to his loving parents Joseph and Rosalie Castro in New York City. Anthony was a quintessential polymath. After graduating from The Bronx High School of Science, he enlisted in the United States Army serving honorably during wartime. He graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, and then went on to Yale University and earned a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering. Anthony was a lifelong learner who used his knowledge and talents to start a plethora of successful businesses, including Blaize Construction, Castro-Holdsworth & Associates, TechForce, and Davidus Cigars. In addition, Anthony loved and supported the arts, authored 5 poetry books, coached soccer, and mentored young men and women helping to pave the way for their success in life.
Anthony Castro felt blessed in his greatest contribution, success, and joy in life to be his storied 65-year marriage to his cherished wife, Rosalie (Graziano) Castro. Anthony’s children and their spouses include Stephen and his wife Maureen, David and his wife Claire, Andrew and his wife Lisa, Paul, Anthony and his wife Missy, and Mary Jo Bradley and her husband Ryan. Anthony’s 12 grandchildren include: Stephen, Colleen Overholtzer, Anthony, John, Megan, Cherokee, Zoe, Zinnia, Sicily, and Maisie, Logan and Parker Bradley. Anthony’s great granddaughter Dorothy Overholtzer is expected in June.
Anthony John Castro’s robust life was the epitome of the American Dream, a meteor shower of joy, and profound love. He will be forever celebrated in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life Mass will take place this Friday, March 28 at 2:00pm at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Avenue North, Naples Florida.
