Born on April 15th 1945 in Garland Manitoba to Olga and Frank Galer, Ralph moved to Nanaimo in his younger youth where he would spend the rest of his life.
He was a dedicated and passionate real estate agent for over 50 years, making a lasting impact on the Nanaimo community. Real estate wasn’t just a profession for him- it was his calling, and he found great joy in helping people find their homes. His professionalism, integrity and commitment earned him the respect and admiration of clients and colleagues alike.
In addition to his successful career, Ralph was a devoted father who cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his four children: Cory (Ron), Chelaine(Steve), Carmen (Colin) and Frank and his step father Gus Nielsen and sister Laurie (Tom). As well as 5 grandchildren Dylan, Tiffany, Raya, Cassaleigh, and Coban and one darling great granddaughter Kinley who always brought a smile to his face.
In later years, Ralph faced the challenges of suffering several strokes which led to dementia. This was a difficult time for him, but he continued to show strength and resilience and did not lose his sense of humor.
He is predeceased by his parents, Olga and Frank Galer.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday November 30th.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Although Ralph’s health may have declined in his later years, the legacy of his love, kindness and dedication to his family and community will continue to live on.
He will forever be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
