Jimmie Eugene Scott, 90, of Nacogdoches passed away peacefully in Nacogdoches, TX, Saturday, September 8, 2018. He was born to James Robert Scott and Ida Viola Davison Scott on August 26, 1928, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Jimmie enjoyed spending time with his family especially at the lake water skiing with his sons and daughter. He was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, and he loved to spread the word of God. Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War. He retired from Nibco after 46 years of dedicated service.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife of 64 years, Barbara Scott.
He is survived by his children; sons, Jimmy E. Scott, Jr., and wife Liz, Jeff Scott and wife Lety; daughter, Joan Scott; granddaughters, Brittany Carwell and husband David, Brenna Scott; great-grandchildren, Rhett and Kendall Carwell.
Funeral services will be held, 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Bro. Paul Sevar will officiate. Interment will follow in Lower Melrose Cemetery.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, September 11, 2018, from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, at the funeral home.
