Jeanne was born on September 3, 1939, in Torrington, Connecticut, and passed away peacefully at the age of 85. She was the daughter of James R. Southworth and Martha Bouvier Southworth.
Jeanne met a young seaman from Texas, Gene A. Hallmark, and married him on January 11, 1959. They eventually moved to Lufkin, Texas where they spent many happy years.
Jeanne went to Angelina College, and went on into a career as a bookkeeper and office manager in Lufkin. She was known for her dedication and professionalism, and made a lasting impact on her colleagues and the businesses she served.
A woman of remarkable creativity, Jeanne found joy in sewing, needlepoint, and photography. Her artistic endeavors brought beauty and comfort to those around her.
Jeanne is remembered by her children, James Hallmark and his wife Hope, and Darla Weber and her husband Nick; her grandchildren Joshua Hallmark and his wife Carol, and Clarissa Hallmark; as well as five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Winthrop Southworth; sisters Faye Simard and her husband Kerry, and Pamela Benjamin and her husband Thomas, as well as many nieces and nephews
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene A. Hallmark; grandson Cameron Z. Hallmark; brothers James R. Southworth Jr., Glenn Southworth, Barry Southworth, and her sister Terry Hilton.
Jeanne’s life was full of love, creativity, and quiet strength. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her as she rests in eternal peace, reunited with those she held dear in the embrace of God’s grace.
