Dorothy Mae Wilkerson

Dorothy was born on June 14, 1941 in Houston, TX to Mae Thomas and John Thomas.

She was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother who was the heart and soul of her family. Although her husband Dean would argue, the rest of the family knew she was “the boss”. Dorothy was a faithful servant of Christ who attended church and knew the good book as well as any preacher. She was a part of the Kilgore Garden Club for many years and passionate about the beauty of flowers.

Dorothy is survived by Son, Richard Wilkerson; Son, Robert Wilkerson; Sister – Sandra Green; Grandchildren – Wendy Granados, Sean-Dean Wilkerson, Samantha Wilkerson, Alyssa Wilkerson, and Logan Wilkerson; Great Grandchildren – Christian, Jeremiah, and Gabriela Granados; and many other family and friends whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Dean Wilkerson, her parents Mae and John Thomas, and sisters, Ethel Adams and JohnnyFaye O’Reilly.

A heartfelt thank you to our friends that have become family: Laura Wilson, Cindy Long, Thomas Wade, and the Hospice nurses and staff for the love and care they have shown to our family.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North St, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

Dorothy will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery, Appleby, TX.
