Susan Kay Dansby

Susan Kay Dansby, age 58 of Muskegon, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 in the loving arms of her family. She was born on February 21, 1957 to Donald and Mary McCauley in Muskegon. Susan was a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians and worked at the Little River Casino and Resort. She enjoyed making walking sticks, hunting, and spending time at her cabin. Susan loved her dogs and cherished time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert McCauley; and her dad, Donald McCauley. She is survived by her husband, Rick Dansby; her children, April (Jacob) Reineke, and Jerry (Kim) Shelder; her stepdaughter, Shelby Dansby; her grandchildren, Chloe, Zack, Makayla, and Brayden; her sister, Peggy Douglas; her brother, Tom (Michele) McCauley; her mom, Mary McCauley; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Visitation will take place Monday, October 26, 2015 from 2 – 4pm and from 6 – 8pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel; 1783 E. Keating Ave in Muskegon. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel at 11am, with an hour of visitation prior to the service, beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy VNS and Hospice and the Johnson Cancer Center.
