Melissa Rae Grabe, age 44, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Melissa was born on March 17, 1970 in Grand Rapids, MI to parents Richard and Carolyn (Freeland) Sokolowski. She enjoyed target practice, fishing and shopping. She was a caring mother who loved spending time with her family and her two dogs. Melissa will be lovingly remembered by her children: Miranda Ketchum, Rachael Ketchum, Connor Grabe; step-son, Tyler Grabe; sister, Angela (Derek) Karten; parents: Richard and Carolyn Sokolowski; nieces: Dana McKinnon and Brooke Karten. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 4:00-7:00pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon). A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Ravenna First Reformed Church (3327 Mortimer St., Ravenna). Memorial contributions may be made to Melissa’s children in loving memory of their mother.
