John was born May 20, 1929, the son of Harold and Helen McCormick. After High School John served his country proudly in the US Air Force. He married Mary Beacom in 1954. Together they were blessed with five children and 51 years of marriage until her death in 2005. John was a Union Plumber/Pipefitter and a member of Union Local 174. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the VFW, and White Lake Eagles 3214. He enjoyed golfing, riding his tractor, NASCAR, watching sports all except basketball, gardening, and his precious gladiolas. He was a hard-working family man who had a special place in his heart for his great grandchildren. John had a sense of humor and a loving spirit that will be deeply missed.
John is survived by: his children, Tom (Cathy) McCormick, Kathy McCormick, Ken McCormick, Connie Falbe, and Joe (Renee) McCormick; grandchildren, Candi (Andy), Thomas Jr. (Lauren), Mark (Jennifer), Ryan, Nate, Amber, Jennifer (Jim), Michelle (Andrew), Chance (Nicole), Heather (Gary), and Katie; 21 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; sister, Mary Kramer; sister-in-law, Sonia McCormick; and several nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his wife Mary; his parents; brothers, James and Robert (Rosemary); and son-in-law Joe Iwaniec.
A Mass of Christian Burial be will held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Matthew Barnum officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the mass at church. Interment will be at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
