Joanne Arena Morehouse

She was born on February 20, 1943 to John and Della Norton in Muskegon,

Michigan. Joanne married the love of her life, Bruce Morehouse, on August 19,

1961, and the couple spent many wonderful years together until his passing in

July 2022. She worked for many years as a library assistant in the Oakridge public

school system. She loved listening to music, dancing, playing golf, traveling,

camping, and drinking beer/wine. Joanne and Bruce were snowbirds and would

travel to Florida when Michigan got just a little too cold. Joanne was a fun, caring,

loving, and selfless woman who will be deeply missed.

Joanne was preceded in death by: husband, Bruce Morehouse; parents, John and

Della Norton; grandson, Tim Miller; brother, Robert Norton; and sister, Pat Cobb.

Joanne is survived by: children, Russell (Laura) Morehouse, Randy (Theresa)

Morehouse, and Deanna (Brad) Maycroft; grandchildren, Derik (Emily)

Morehouse, Jacob Morehouse (Courtney), Alecia Miller (Brandon), Lauren (Brian)

Reed, Kaitlin (Tyler) Hommes, and Serena Maycroft (Sal); great grandchildren,

Matthew, Sissy, Quinn, Riley, Kiley, Laketyn, and Kace; sister-in-law, Marian Poole;

brothers, Rex (Charleen) Norton; sister, Bonnie Decker; a very special niece who

was more like a sister, Peggy (Donald) Mierendorf; and many nieces and

nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 11:00am at Ever

Rest Funeral Home and Chapel. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the

start of the service. A celebration of Life Luncheon will take place at the VFW post

7729, 6285 E. Apple Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442, following the memorial at the

funeral home.
