Frances Marie Petrie

Frances (Trix) was born November 16, 1925, the daughter of George and Gladys McConnell. She married

Donald Petrie on May 30, 1945, and together they enjoyed 48 years of marriage until his death in 1993. Frances was a lifetime member of VFW post 8846, past member of the Holton American Legion AUX, and the Muskegon Eagles. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, dancing, bowling, traveling, and cooking. She was a feisty, strong-willed woman who had her special way of letting you know she loved you. She will be deeply missed.

Frances (Trix) is survived by her daughters, Barb Skuse, and Linda (Dennis) Cory; grandchildren, Rodney Duell, David Barnhard, Deb Goode, Gena (Ron) Pratt, Jeff (Sandy) Cory, Randy (Kristin Kratt) Cory, James (Sondrea) Petrie, Rachael (Mason) Brown, and Donald Petrie III; 22 great-grandchildren, and 15 great great- grandchildren with another 4 on the way; She also had several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don; son, Donald Jr.; her parents; and 6 siblings.

A celebration of her life will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Don Rea VFW post 8846, 1061 Witham Muskegon 49445 with a luncheon to follow. The family will begin to receive guests for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00.
