Douglas Albert Szost

Douglas Albert Szost, a beloved member of the Muskegon, Michigan community, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the age of 61. Born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, Doug was the son of Leopold Joseph and Phyllis Szost. He grew up in a loving family and attended Catholic Central, where he graduated with honors.

Doug was known for his sense of humor and his love for the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends in nature. Doug was a devoted husband to his wife, Tina Marie, and a loving father to his children: Stefanie (Tim Sheldon) Szost, Robert (Courtney) Jones, Chad (Lannetta) Jones, and Jesse Jones. His Grandchildren Tukker Douglas Szost, Damion Jones, Michael Jones Madison Jones and Vayda Jones He cherished his family and friends and always went out of his way to make sure that they felt loved and supported.

In addition to his wife and children, Doug is survived by his brothers Leo( Susan) Szost, David, and Daniel Szost, and his sisters Michele (Mark) Tascone, Monica (Ron) Hunter, and Renee Keeton. He was also a beloved brother-in-law and by many nieces and nephews, friend to many. Doug's childhood friend, Art Tanis, was a significant part of his life, and they shared many memories together.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents.

A cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Doug's memory. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
