It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of Dennis Ray Davis, 75, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Muskegon, Michigan. Dennis embraced his final moments peacefully, surrounded by the warmth and love of his devoted family, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and cherished memories.
Born on January 16, 1949, in Muskegon, Michigan, Ray was the son of Herchel Davis and Mary Lee Ellis.
He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to his family. Ray married the love of his life, Teresa (Galbreath) Davis, in 1973, and together they built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories. Their love story was one for the ages, and they shared countless moments of joy, including dancing together to slow love songs in the garage until morning. Ray and Teresa’s bond was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his family.
Ray was a fearless protector and a natural leader, especially to his daughters, who saw him as their superhero. He was known for his intelligence, work ethic, and his ability to always make time for his loved ones. His caring nature and handsome smile his charismatic personality and quick wit! Will be remembered by all who knew him.
A hardworking man with a zest for life, Ray had a passion for riding his motorcycle and often enjoyed taking long, scenic rides. But more than anything, it was his family that brought him the most joy. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Teresa Davis; his daughters, Amy (Jarrid) and Marci (Blake); and his son, Billy. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Michael (Chelsey), Jace, Cade, Dennis, Marisa (JD), Rynlee, Addisyn, Jordan, and Kacie (Roger). Also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings: Marie (Charlie), Jeff (Mary), and Greg (Donna), special friends Bobby & Vickie, Dale & Lorraine as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, his son, and his brothers.
A private family service will be held to honor Ray’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to [charity or cause, if any], or a kindness be shown in his memory.
Ray’s family is profoundly grateful for the incredible outpouring of love and support during this challenging time. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, a courageous father, a true superhero, and a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, embodying the essence of friendship and strength for all.
