William D. Shelton, age 78, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at The Crossings @ Victory Station. Mr. Shelton was the son of the late Hank and Ruby Woodard Shelton. He was also preceded in death by his wife of over 51 years, Janet Louise Shelton, who passed away in October of 2021. Mr. Shelton is survived by his sons, Stephen Newman (Marlisa) and Michael L. Newman (Kurt Eckman); daughter, Jennifer Darling (Robert Herrmann), and grandchildren; David Newman, Ian Newman, Abby Darling, Matt Darling, Lawson Darling. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alline and Ann Shelton. Service to celebrate Mr. Shelton will be at One O’clock the afternoon of Monday, March 14, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home with placement to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are cordially invited to visitation also on Monday from Twelve noon until the service begins at One O’clock. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
