Tommie Ellen VanFleet

Mrs. Tommie Ellen White VanFleet, age 93, of Antioch, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday evening, August 20, 2022. A native of Giles County, TN, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth VanFleet, they were married for 64 years. She was the daughter of the late Cecil F. and Effie Lou Davis White. She is survived by daughter, Candice Ellen VanFleet of Murfreesboro, TN; son, William Craig VanFleet and his wife Karen of Tullahoma; two grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Senzig and husband Weston of Smyrna, TN and Chad A. Eaton of Murfreesboro, TN; great grandson, Jeffrey K. Benton of Old Hickory, TN; brother, Leon White and wife Mary Alice of Lawrenceburg, TN; a host of nieces and nephews; and she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian White Jones of Goodsprings, TN and Mandella White Williams of Pulaski, TN

Services to celebrate Mrs. VanFleet will be at One O’clock the afternoon of Friday, August 26, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Wayne Cornwell officiating. Friends are cordially invited to visitation Thursday evening from Four O’clock until Eight O’clock also at Roselawn Funeral Home. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

She was a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ in Smyrna, Tennessee. She worked 30 years in banking, retiring as an executive secretary from First Union National Bank, now known as US Bank. She enjoyed reading and researching her family genealogy. She worked with silk flowers, designing numerous cemetery type arrangements. They were sold at festivals and she gave many away. She referred to them as Flowers of Sympathy. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
