Betty Garrett Brummett, age 86, of Smryna, Tennessee passed away on April 24, 2021. She was born on June 9, 1934 in Pickett County, Tennessee to the late Nora and Ethan Garrett. Betty is also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Howard Boyce Brummett; brothers, William Flemming Garrett, Samuel Franks Garrett, and Charles Faix Garrett; and sisters, Ruth Garrett, Beth Garrett, and Peggy Bess Hall. She is survived by children, Deborah Rigsby (Earl), Susan Brummett, and John Brummett; grandchildren, Leslie Osing (Scott), Julia Earles (Paul) Jennifer Moore (Josh), Wesley Brummett, and Christian Brummett; and great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Fletcher, Blaine Maxwell, and Cameron Earles.
A graduate of Pickett County High School, Betty worked many jobs throughout her life, but truly excelled at partnering with the love of her life Howard in the success of the Nashville franchise of Property Damage Appraisers. After more than 20 years in business, Betty and Howard retired, retreating to Dover, Tennessee where they enjoyed every day with friends and family.
Betty was a member of First Christian Church in Byrdstown, Tennessee where she and Howard were married. In recent years, she joined the Murfreesboro First Christian Church.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from six o’clock until eight o’clock at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at ten o’clock at Roselawn Funeral Home. Burial to follow at E.A. Garrett Cemetery in Byrdstown, Tennessee.
