AUX SOINS DE
Elm Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Sharon Kay (Katie) Thomas, 79, finished her infancy here on Earth and went to spend the rest of eternity with her heavenly Father.
She was born March 3, 1943, in Muncie, the daughter of Wesley T. and Mae M. (Cooper) Winkle. Sharon attended Muncie Schools and lived in the area her entire life. She attended Fairlawn Church of Christ and was a member of Towne Acres Church of Christ. She lived her life following 1 Corinthians 13:13 “...But the greatest of these is love”, especially when it came to her family.
If you were Sharon’s child, grandchild, great-grandchild, nephew, or niece, that meant that in school you were the most talented in your class, the smartest and of course the best looking. There was no arguing with her, that’s just how it was – her love was pure.
Sharon is survived by the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Harry L. Thomas; two sons, Daniel J. Thomas (partner, Kevin Mitchell) and Timothy N. Thomas; four grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Stephanie Fields, Zack Thomas, and Meghan Plank; five great-grandchildren, Marshall, Becca, Brantly, Monroe, and Keaton; and four brothers, Donnie Winkle, Jimmy Winkle, Wayne Winkle, and Mike Winkle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Johnston; and a brother, Norman Winkle.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.elmridgefuneralhome.com.
