Robert Lewis Gillespie

Robert “Bob” Lewis Gillespie, 65, of Muncie, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at home. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Sunday, July 22, 1956, to Maryland Gillespie. Bob moved to Muncie where he spent the last thirty years and owned Gillespie and Son Heating and Cooling before he retired. He was married to Sharon Dunaway for twelve years, and they later divorced but remained friends. Bob was a hard worker and in his spare time, he loved off-roading and riding his ATV. He collected tools and played the harmonica. Bob was also a great dad and the grandchildren called him “Papaw Bob”. Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory, two sons, Brandon (Staci) Gillespie and Wesley Clements; a daughter, Hollee (Jason) Beams; a step-daughter, Shannon Heavilin; sisters, Sherrie, Suzie, Shelly, and Sandy; brothers, Brian, Troy, Charles, Kevin, and Randy Gillespie; grandchildren, Morgan Gillespie, Aubrey Childers, Delanee Gillespie, Braylon Beams, Easton Beams, Braytin Heavilin and step-grandchildren, Jaron and Kaleb Beams; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maryland Gillespie. A memorial visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Cremation will take place.
