Edward W. Dotterweich (Ed), 68, passed away on July 27, 2024 with his loving wife by his side. Ed was born on January 6, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio to Roland (Ed) and Doris Dotterweich. His parents and sister Linda preceeded him in death. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Victoria (Vickie); his daughters, Heather (Scott) Koons and Amanda Yanis; 5 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as many cousins here and in Cleveland, Ohio.
He spent the last 6 months at Morrison Woods Health Campus, where he became like family with the staff. We would like to express our gratitude for the excellent care Ed and Vickie received, and the friendships formed.
Ed graduated from Yorktown High School in 1974, where he met his wife Vickie. They were married in 2017, after reconnecting on Facebook. He worked for almost 40 years as a Golf Course Superintendent at several local courses, before retiring. He then worked at American Woodmark and retired in 2021. He continued to work parttime at Blackford Golf Club.
He enjoyed working around the house, going to rummage sales, traveling and spending time with his wife and 3 dogs; Cally, Jett and Skye. Ed is a member of The Lighthouse Church in Hartford City, where he was active in Celebrate Recovery. Ed was also very active in the East Central Indiana Emmaus Community as well as A Better Life – Brianna’s Hope recovery group.
Public Visitation for Ed will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at The Lighthouse Church, 2101 North Walnut St, Hartford City, Indiana, 47348, with Funeral Services immediately following the visitation.
A private family graveside service will be held at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304.
Memorial contributions may be made to Celebrate Recovery – Hartford City, (c/o The Lighthouse Church) and ECI-Emmaus in lieu of flowers.
