Carol A. Paul

Carol Anne Paul, age 83 passed away at home peacefully on May 16, 2023, in New Bern, North Carolina, where she had resided for the last three years. Born in Muncie, to parents, Walter Dain Pearson and Treva Fern Oakely Pearson, on October 21, 1939, where she grew up and graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1957. Carol lived in California for several years before returning to Muncie to live out her remaining years. She made her career at the Delaware County Welfare office, where she worked for thirty years until she retired. She also enjoyed working as a bartender, as well as enjoying her time bowling on several leagues around the city. She was an avid lover of cats, and over the years she had far too many to count, but every one of them was loved as much as the others.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Anne Goodspeed, (Scott); sons, Charles Arthur Paul, Jr. (Melinda), and Shawn Alan Paul, (Patty); grandchildren, Mara E. Boudreaux (John), Morgan M. Jimenez (Steven), Matthew T. Paul (Chelsea), Jennifer N. Craig (Dakota); great grandchildren, Easton, Archer, Kinley, Alaina, and Niklaus; two fat and sassy fur babies, Sammy and Boots; and her best friend, Sherri Hornbuckle, and many other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter D. Pearson; mother, Treva F. Pearson; son, John D. Paul; and brothers, Dain T. Pearson, James Pearson.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
