Frances Alene Long, 97, of Mount Morris, PA passed away at 8:18 AM, Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Evergreen Personal Care in Waynesburg, PA. Frances was born November 14, 1926 in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Miles "Mac" Haines and Daisy Renner Haines. Frances was a lifelong resident of Greene County. She was a member of the Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. Frances was a graduate of Waynesburg High School Class of 1943, and then graduated from Penn Commercial College in 1945. For 20 years she worked for WVU as an office assistant in the forestry department. Her Husband: David L. Long, whom she married on February 14, 1947 died on October 5, 2008. Surviving are 1 Son: Richard (Susan C.) Long of Mount Morris, PA, 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Daughter-in-Law: Kathy Long of Tennessee. Deceased are 1 Son- David F. Long, 1 Sister- Mary Kathryn Reid and 2 Brothers- Harry Haines and Elmer Haines.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with her funeral service being held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joseph Adams officiating in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc. 324 Mount Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mount Morris, PA 15349 Shane M. Ayers, Director has been entrusted with her arrangements.
