Robert Alexander Parks

Robert Alexander Parks, age 85, of Morganton, beloved husband of Linda Sue Parks, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Robert was born to the late Mort Henry Parks and Edna Pauline Alexander Parks on September 24, 1939 in Burke County, NC.

Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by a brother, Mort Parks, Jr., and a sister, Anna Belle Hibbard.

Those left behind to cherish Robert's memory include his wife, Linda Parks, two daughters, Jodi Parks Stonebraker and her spouse Tony, and Christi Parks Lucus and her spouse Brandon; and five grandchildren, Noah, Allison, and Colby Lucus, Alex Parks and Liam Hibbard. Also surviving are numerous other relatives and friends.

Robert loved his family and church family at Linville United Methodist Church. He was very proud of all his grandchildren. Robert was known for his love of mowing the grass and maintaining the church and property at Linville. He served in the US Army for six years and was a member of Oak Hill Fire Dept for over 20 years. He enjoyed training new fireman and Search and Rescue crews.

Robert earned his Eagle Scout in his youth and later became a Boy Scout leader for eight years. He liked to spend time volunteering for his community. We will all miss you!

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Linville United Methodist Church in Morganton. A "Celebration of Robert's Life" will follow at 2:00 PM. Floral tributes should be sent to the church.
