Jackie Vann Johnson

Jackie Vann Johnson age 71, of Morganton transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday October 20, 2018. Mr. Johnson was born January 7, 1947 in Burke Co. to the late Cleveland Johnson and Hazel Wilkins Johnson.

Jackie was a graduate of Oak Hill High School, after graduating high school he went to serve in the United States Air Force. Upon returning from the U.S. Air Force he graduated from Western Piedmont Community College.

Mr. Johnson retired from Broughton Hospital after 30 years as a Recreational Therapist, after retirement he went on to work at Morganton Eye Physicians. Mr. Johnson was a master of all trades he was the proud owner of his landscaping company, he enjoyed carpentry, working on cars, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents Cleveland and Hazel Wilkins Johnson, Jackie was preceded in death by his two brothers, Tommy Johnson, and Robert Johnson, and one nephew; Shannon Johnson.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter; Jackie Y. Johnson, a son; Casey Johnson (Stacy) both of Morganton, a sister; Barbara Johnson, and brother; Billy Johnson (Katherine) all of Morganton. Eight Grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
