A loving and deeply devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Ethel was a true homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress, having once sewed her own clothing, she adored the beauty of any flower she came across and had an exceptional green thumb. She also adored reading a good book. Most importantly, she knew the importance of family. Her loved ones fondly remember the many crawfish boils, barbeques and gatherings she held. She wanted her family together making memories. She was a lady who was good to everyone. Ethel was also proud of her three beloved dogs who she spoiled.
Ethel is survived by her children, Farrel Ann Lodrigues, Irene Theresia Trahan, and Felix "Phil" Adam Fryou III; her grandchildren, Farrel Barger, Micheal Lodrigues, Cherie Lodrigues, Amber Lodrigues, Nicole Lodrigues, Christian Lodrigues, Sarah Lodrigues, Guy Lombas, Buffie Hebert, Scottie Lombas, Don Fryou, Jessica Theriot, and Seth Fryou; her great grandchildren, Danny Aucoin, Kayla Metrjean, Kaitlyn Metrejean, Sunni, Britiany, Tyler, Christian, Josiah, Madison, Jude, Alyex, Brooklyn, Kamdyn, Ellianna, Elyse, Everett, Aidon, and Alayah; and her great-great grandchildren, Jo'Elyn, Emma, Jackson, Vance, Rocky, Gigi, Lili, Milli, Brayson, and Bryker.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Felix Fryou Jr.; her sons, Don Fryou and Michael Fryou; her grandson, Michael Lombas; her great grandson, Brook Lombas; parents, John and Anna Dupre; her brothers, Aubrey Dupre, Evans Dupre; her sisters, Irene Ross, Edmae Benoit, and Odethel Pontiff; and two sons-in-law, Hilton Lodrigues and David Trahan.
The family requests that a time of visitation be observed on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 9am until time of services at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Amelia. A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Ethel on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 11am at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with graveside services following in the church cemetery in Amelia.
Those acting as pallbearers will be Don Fryou, Seth Fryou, Guy Lombas, Scottie Lombas, Danny Aucoin, and Christian Lodrigues. Honorary pallbearers will be Felix "Phil" Fryou III and Michael Lodrigues.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana and Terrebonne General Hospital for their care of Ethel in her final days.
