Diana was born on June 13, 1940, in Morgan City to Julius and Elma Cortez, Sr. She was affectionately known as "Esta" to all who knew her. Her early years were spent in Brownsville, Texas; a place that held cherished memories she often shared with others. She danced through life with her husband, Allen, until his passing in 2019. Together, they were longtime members of the Cruisin' Cajuns, creating wonderful memories while camping and dancing with dear friends.
Diana's legacy is carried on by her children and their spouses: Debra (Dennis) Foster, Wilbert "Butch" Stocker, Susan (Clayton) Billiot, Janet (Floyd Jr.) Broussard, and stepdaughter Julie Aleman. Her love extends to her cherished grandchildren and their spouses: Mark (Lindy) St. Romain, Jr., Michelle (Rick) Lancaster, Ryan (Leslie) Foster, and Nicholas Broussard. Additionally, she is survived by 11 adored great-grandchildren: Beau, Ben, George, and Maggie St. Romain, Jared, Jordan, Jena, Grace, and Christian Lancaster, Tara and Stormy Foster, and the eagerly anticipated arrival of Emily Grace Foster in February. Madison Williams, who was like a granddaughter to her, also remains in her memory.
Other survivors include her sister, GayDale Aucoin, step-grandchildren, Roger Lee (Melanie) Craft, Jayme (Dig) Carson, Josh (Brittani) Aleman, and Macy Aleman, and numerous nieces and nephews, who all affectionately called her Nanny.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen J. Aleman; parents, Julius Cortez, Sr., and Elma Comeaux Percle; stepfather, John Harvey Percle; brothers, Julius “JC” Cortez, Jr., and Sidney Cortez; and stepdaughter, Cindy Aleman Craft.
