David Troy Oliney

David Troy Oliney, 56, a native of Melville, LA and resident of Fairburn, GA transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Atlanta VA Medical Center in Decatur, GA surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at New Zorah Baptist Church 604 Julia Street Morgan City, LA. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.

David leaves to cherish his memories; his mother and stepfather, Savannah Oliney (Samson) Fornette of Morgan City, LA; siblings, Sherita Oliney (Karl) Molden of Walker, LA, Timika Oliney (Sylvester) Francois of Bayou Vista, LA, Gregory (Michelle) Oliney of Chalmette, LA; a loving host of nieces/great nieces; nephews/great nephews; "special" sister-in-law, Keisha Francois; devoted and loving friends, Dr. Linda Clark, Fred Wilhite, Carol Clark, Julie Churchman, Janice Lewis, Beverly Ellis, and Theresa Booker.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George Oliney, Sr. and Doretha Oliney; stepfather, Floyd Vaughns, Sr.; sister, Debra Oliney; nieces, Ariesha Jackson and Rae'Shawn Randle; great niece, Ai'yana Oliney, aunts, uncles, and friends.
