Barbara A. Small

Barbara was born on August 4th, 1936, in Peekskill New York to the late Joseph and Lillian Travis. She attended Hendrick Hudson High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart. After high school, Barbara worked for the New York telephone company before staying home to raise her four children. Barbara later went to work for the Hendrick Hudson School District before finishing her career with IBM in Tarrytown.

She was a lifetime member of Saint Christopher's church and a devout follower of Jesus. She enjoyed camping, playing bingo and loved taking ceramic classes. She would consider her best achievement to be her family.

Barbara is survived by her devoted sons, William E. Small, Jr. and Wayne Small (Virginia); loving daughter Cheryl Stevenson (Wayne); and cherished grandchildren, Robert Stevenson (Marissa), William Small (Tori), Jennifer Bynum (Brad), Stephanie Small (Mike), Jessica Small and Mary Vitaliano (Anthony). She is also survived by her adoring great grandchildren, Kristen Strang; Landon and Avery Stevenson, Kylie and Brynlee Bynum; Cyana and Reese Small and Sophia Vitaliano. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, William E. Small Sr., son Bruce, daughter in law Laurie and granddaughter Christina

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, located at 170 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose New York. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, September 30th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, New York.
