Helen Lanthier

Helen was a faithful companion on the journey of life to Antoinette Taddeo. Daughter of John C. Lanthier (deceased) and Henriette Girard (deceased), sister and sister-in-law to Jack (deceased) and Margaret (deceased), sister to Gilbert, aunt to Michael (Lyne), Suzanne (François), Robert (Kathryn), and great-aunt to Philippe, Patrick, Sarah, and Isabelle.

Throughout life, Helen retained a great love for her Alma Mater, Villa Maria, where she taught for 37 years. She was the author of its history: Monklands Then, Villa Maria Now. The friends she made there, among colleagues and students, remember her with love and affection.

Thanks to Dr. Jose Morais, head of geriatrics at the MUHC, for his outstanding attention and support in attending to Helen’s medical needs.

Utmost gratitude to her care-givers Cora, Fely, and Imelda, who because of their patience, devotion and love, enabled Helen to remain in the comfort of her home to the end. A special thanks goes also to Marie Auguste.

Condolences will be held at the Collins Clarke MacGillivray White funeral home (5610 Sherbrooke St. W, Montreal) on Wednesday, March 4th, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Parking available behind the funeral home on Marcil. A funeral service will be held at St Ignatius of Loyola Church (4455 West Broadway, Montreal) on Thursday, March 5th, at 10.30 a.m. with a burial to follow at the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges cemetery.

Dans la paix et la sérénité, au son de The Sound of Music, Helen Lanthier a complété son passage sur cette terre le 23 février 2020.

Helen a été la fidèle compagne de vie d’Antoinette Taddeo. Fille de John C. Lanthier et Henriette Girard (decedés), sœur et belle sœur de Jack et Margaret (decedés), sœur de Gilbert, tante de Michael (Lyne), Suzanne (François), Robert (Kathryn), et la grand-tante de Philippe, Patrick, Sarah et Isabelle.

Tout au cours de sa vie, Helen a conservé un grand attachement pour son alma mater, Villa Maria, où elle a enseigné pendant 37 ans. Elle en a d’ailleurs écrit l’histoire, Monklands Then, Villa Maria Now. Ses amis, collègues et élèves se souviennent d’elle avec grande affection.

Sincères remerciements au Dr. Jose Morais, chef du service de gériatrie du CUSM, pour son dévouement et ses soins attentionnés envers Helen.

Nous tenons également à remercier du fond du cœur Cora, Fely et Imelda qui, grâce à leur patience, leur dévouement et leur amour, ont permis à Helen de demeurer à la maison jusqu’à la toute fin.

La famille recevra vos condoléances au salon funéraire Collins Clarke MacGillivray White (5610 rue Sherbrooke O., Montréal) le mercredi 4 mars de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 21h. Stationnement disponible sur la rue Marcil. Un service religieux aura lieu le jeudi 5 mars à 10h30 à l’église St Ignatius of Loyola (4455 rue West Broadway, Montréal) suivi d’un enterrement au cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges.
