John was a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s medical school, and held degrees in Honours Mathematics and Physics, and a master’s degree (MSc) in Physics. He interned at McGill University completing residencies in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, and was also board certified in Geriatrics. Widely known for his dedication, integrity, and kindness to his patients, John held the post of Medical Director of Long-Term Care at the former Montreal Chest Hospital and also served as a consultant at Ste. Anne’s Hospital. Sadly, his career was brought to an abrupt end by his illness in 2002. John will always be remembered for his dry wit and encyclopedic knowledge of every topic known to man (the official uncrowned Jeopardy champion). Avid cyclist, Montreal Expos fan, and Formula 1 enthusiast.
The family would also like to thank John’s physician, Dr. John Setrakian.
