It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Constance (Connie) Blair (née Yorke) on May 2, 2018 in Montreal after battling cancer for 7 years. Connie is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Richard P. Blair, her daughters Barbara (Roger Lussier) , Caroline (Mike Gebremedhin), and Elizabeth (Stephen Smith), her grandchildren Catherine (Joannie Denault) and Patrick (Corrine Prairie) Blair-Timothy, Emma and Bruce Smith, and great-grandson Victor Timothy. A graduate of Marianopolos College and McGill University (1982), Connie was a devoted teacher at The Priory School from 1974 until her retirement in 1993. Since then she volunteered at several organizations including the NDG food bank and her local CLSC, among others. She was a member of Contactivity and the Westmount YMCA and was a supporter of Chez Doris, a centre for women in need. Connie was a generous and frequent hostess known for her “all you can eat” dinner parties. She loved to sing and was a curious and active woman who embraced life with all she had. Special thanks go out to her devoted family doctor of many years Dr. Barbara Jean MacDonell, to Dr. Scott Owen of the Cedars Cancer Centre, and to the entire palliative care team at the Royal Victoria Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McGill University Health Centre Foundation (www.muhcfoundation.com).
Visitation will take place at Collins Clarke McGillivray White Funeral Home, 5610 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal on Wednesday May 9 between 3 and 5 PM and between 7 and 9 PM. A service will take place at the same location on Thursday May 10 at 10 am.
