My condolences on the passing of your father. He cut a fine figure on parade as the Drum Major of the 3rd Battalion Black Watch Military Band. A good person and a true gentleman. 
Rest in peace Stuart. It is many years since we last spoke but I have fond memories of you.

Comrade Christie, or Stu as he is fondly known as, who transfered from Branch 24/106 in 1983, was our Service Officer for many years at Branch 212 helping veterans and their families. If you knew Stu, you know he is very "low-key" about his work and works painstkingly pursuing all avenues until he reached his goals. He has consistently refused to accept any money from the Poppy Fund to cover his expenses (and they were significant). He is very well known and greatly respected at DVA. Evan though his work as Service Officer kept him busy, Stu could always be counted on to work on the branches Poppy Campaign each year.
 Some of Stu's accomplishments include:
         - Past Mess President, HMCS Donnacona
         - Past VP, Association Members, South African War Veterans
         - Past President, Montreal Air Cargo Club
         - Past President, The Traffic Club of Montreal
         - Past Chairman of the Board, Traffic Club of Montreal
         - Past President, United Services Club
         - Past VP, Merchant Navy Association
 Comrade Christie is also a recipiant of awards from the following organizations:
         - The War Amps of Canada
         - The Sir Arthur Pearson Association of War Blinded
         - Certificate of Merit from the Royal Canadian Legion
         - 125th Commemorative Medal from the Gouvernment of Canada
         - Canadian Forces Decoration (CD)
         - Kiwanis (International) Citizenship Award
         - Merchant Navy Medallion
         - The Chairman's Award, for seving as a committee chairman of 306 wing.
         - Lifetime Membership in the Royal Canadian Legion
It is without doubt that Comrade C.S. (Stu) Christie's dedication to Branch 212 has greatly improved the quality of life of its members who have benefited from his tireless work.
 I join with so many others who knew Stu in offering my deepest sympathy on his passing. Although it is little consolation at this sad time, it should be of some satisfaction to know that in his passing you can celebrate a productive life. The measure of a life well-lived is not in how much money one has or what possessions they have accumulated, but rather through the lives they touched. If the outpouring of sympathy is any indication, and it most certainly is, you can confidently say that his was indeed a life well-lived.
 You have fought your battles with honour and bravely and now is a time for rest, farewell on your last voyage and rest in peace comrade.

So sorry to hear of Uncle Stu's passing. I have so many great memories of him. He will be deeply missed by many. My condolences to all of the family members he left behind.

My deepest condolences are extended to the family on the loss of Mr, Christie. I didn't know him for a long time but I've just finished reading his autobiography - he sure lived a full, eventful and giving life. He will be missed by the family but will never be forgotten.

We salute your veteran. Our condolences for your loss and gratitude for your loved one's service to our country.

My thoughts and prayers are with Stuart and his three children. I remember Mr. Christie as a strong, always thoughtful and extremely giving person who very much loved his wife, children and grandchildren. His generosity and kindness, throughout a lifetime,  extended to his community and much further beyond. 

He will be greatly missed but never forgotten
