William David Collister II of Montgomery, Alabama passed away on April 10, 2021 at the age of 86. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of Taylor Road Baptist Church. Bill graduated from Holmes High School in Covington, Kentucky and served for four years in the US Air Force during the Korean War, working in the Air Weather Service. While attending Huntingdon College, he was church music director at Highland Gardens Baptist Church. He later served at Emmanuel Baptist, Woodley Baptist and Valley Park Baptist. Bill was an active member of Taylor Road Baptist Church where he has served as deacon, trustee, usher, and delegate to the Alabama State Convention and Southern Baptist National Convention. Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother Clarence and Ina Collister and his three brothers, Clarence Jr., Ray and Tom (Rita). He leaves a loving wife and friend of 64+ years, Ann Collister, son W. Keith Collister, Atlanta, GA. daughter Sharon (Robert) Walker, Cumming, GA, one granddaughter J. Nicole, and four grandsons William D. Collister III (Mary Beth), Timothy D. Walker, Michael D. Walker (Paige), and Jacob W. Walker. He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Taylor Road Baptist Church, 1685 Taylor Road, Montgomery, Alabama. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 with the service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the building fund at Taylor Road Baptist Church, or Wounded Warriors.
