William H. Andrews died Monday, March 5, 2024, after a long illness. Funeral Services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 2:00pm with visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Minister Randy Medlin will be officiating with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Bill retired as Assistant Airport Director at Montgomery Regional Airport after 35 years of service. He established the accounting system enabling Dannelly Field to get federal grants to expand and is now Montgomery Regional Airport. Bill earned his private pilot license and designed the first logo for the airport. He did 39 years of volunteer service on the Supervisory Committee of Comala Credit Union. After retirement he enjoyed repairing lawn mowers. While a member of the Army National Guard and Army Reserves he was called to active duty two times and retired as a major.
Surviving is his wife of 73 years, Margie a daughter Mitzi Speigner (Benny) Geneva; grandson Drew Hughes (Rebekah) St. Augustine, Fl; Zach Hughes (Molly) Birmingham, AL; 3 great grandchildren Rhett, Riley Anne, Reese Hughes, St. Augustine, FL and nieces and nephews.
