She was the oldest of seven children born and raised in Panama City Beach, FL and the daughter of a charter boat captain, Capt. Henry Crawford Webb and Ollie Webb. Also raised by Cora Webb.
Thursa was a military wife and she along with her husband “G.G.” and their children lived in Tokyo, Japan and other countries. Her favorite place to visit over sea’s was the Holy Land. She stated, “walking the land where my Lord walked, was just magical.”
She and her husband loved to travel. They were members of the Heart of Dixie Motor Home Club as well as the Good Sam Club and they traveled frequently for many years. Their favorite place to camp was St. Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach, FL. Being from Florida, Thursa loved this park. She enjoyed going on walks, reading outside, watching the boats go by and wading in the Gulf.
Thursa loved her family and her hobbies were rocking babies, cooking, painting and she loved to entertain. She met no stranger and made all feel welcome in her presence.
Thursa retired from Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center. She lived in Lowndesboro, AL for forty years and attended Asbury United Methodist Church from 1969 until 2009. The last several years of her life she lived independently at John Knox Manor in Montgomery, AL and attended Whitfield United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Gilbert “G.G.” Brown III. She was also preceded in death by her siblings William Webb, Donald Webb, Jerome Webb (Linda), Lucille Webb Weeks, and Annie Webb Sword (Johnny) and by her sister-in-law Jeanette Yoder.
She is survived by her three children son-George Gilbert Brown IV (Joanne), daughter-Darla Brown Battle (George), and son-Michael Dwayne Brown (Cathy). She is survived by her sister Elva Webb Gauchet (John) and by her sister-in-laws Beverly Boulianne (Etienne) and Nancy Joe Williams. She is survived by her nine grandchildren John Gaines (Adrienne), Jennifer Ross (Michael), Angela Dansby (G. Scott), George Gilbert Brown V, Misty McCollister (Ryan), Elizabeth Merritt, Laura Brown, Autumn Ewald (Byron), and Jessica Goodwin (Taylor). She is survived by her nineteen great grandchildren Ainsley and Keeley Gaines, Jackson and Jacob Ross, Lydia and G. Brooks Dansby, Taylor, Alyssa and Chandler Brown, Ryleigh Magee, Mason, Meric and Maryn McCollister, Benny Merritt IV, Caylee, Caden and Catelynn Ewald, Sumter and Gaines Goodwin.
